Introduction
Platform: mobile web
Role: Overseeing design sprint planning, strategy for new product growth, and execution of design deliverables. Collaborated with the UX researcher as needed and supported the development team during implementation.
What does RealSelf do? They helps customers make cosmetic treatment decisions and connects them to providers (doctors).
Project goals
Non-surgical treatments in the US is surpassing surgical in profit and popularity.
Create new profile pages for providers that offer these treatments and their unique needs.
Improve browsing and decision making experience for the unique needs of users seeking these treatments.
Problems/Challenges
Site was currently optimized for surgical cosmetic treatments and providers.
Revenue is made primarily from selling spotlight adds and profile pages to doctors.
Existing Doctor Profile Designs
The initial request had been to reuse the existing doctor profile design template.
UX Research
Research Method:
Interview with staff from a local medical spa.
Review of existing customer pain points (existing data and previous customer interviews).
Interactive prototype for usability testing.
Chart of questions for each stakeholder
some of the findings
Many of the findings were contrary to customer behavior when selecting surgical procedures and doctors.
There was an expectation of scheduling within a few days rather than waiting for a consultation.
Location was one of the most important things. Customers were not willing to drive far even if the services they wanted were offered.
Unlike with doctors, customers expect a list of services and cost much like a spa or salon.
There was an expectation that reviews would be contextual to the initial search on the site.

B2B Implementation
After testing and launching each module, I was responsible for updating and improving the B2B designs.
Assets for Medical Spa Sales
While each module was being implemented we needed to sign up new medical spas to be on the site, and explain the new page model.
